Planning For Your
Needs

The next step in home landscaping is to
plan for the needs of yourself and your family. List your
needs. Consult each family member and consider there needs in
your plans. These needs may include a driveway and turnaround
space, off-street parking, play space for children, an outdoor
living area, a vegetable garden, privacy from certain areas,
windbreaks, etc. There are usually several ways of satisfying
every need, and you must decide on the most appropriate one
for you. The most satisfying landscapes are both practical and
beautiful.
Blue Zephyr Daisy Nature Hills Nursery, Inc.
The Daisy Blue Zephyr, ‘Brackyscome
hybrid,’ is a Proven Winners Aussie beauty that has fine
foliage. These low growing daisies produce pretty blue
tinted flowers with a yellow eye. The deep green foliage
will shape itself nicely for a rounded basket. Daisies
require a sunny location with fertile, well drained
soil. They should be kept well watered throughout the
summer, to encourage healthier blooms. Spent flowers
should be deadheaded to make room for new blooms. The
leaves are aromatic when bruised. In zones nine through
eleven, these plants can be
perennials. |
 Variegata Obedient Plant Nature
Hills Nursery, Inc.
The Obedient Plant Variegata, ‘Physostegia
virginiana,’ produces bright white, spiked flowers that
bloom from June through September. The plants grow to
three feet tall with a spread of up to two feet. Their
foliage is waxy and green, with bright white margins
that differentiate this plant from other white blooming
perennials. This plant looks great in borders, mixed
plantings or massed. It will also make some great cut
flowers. Try growing this plant with darker colored
plants for a wonderful contrast in any garden.

 Innocence Nemesia Nature Hills
Nursery, Inc.
The Nemesia Innocence, ‘Nemesia fruticans hybrids,’
was bred in England and Germany. The sweetly fragrant
blooms will fill the air with a beautiful aroma when the
sun hits the flowers. This Proven Winners plant has
white flowers with yellow centers, and joins the Nemesia
line of old vavorites. Innocence plants scoff at cold
weather and will continue to bloom through frosts in
early spring and late fall. Nemesia plants cannot
withstand drought, so the soil should be kept
consistently moist. The compact plants will produce an
abundance of showy flowers throughout the summer months.
In zones eight through eleven, these plants can also be
grown as perennials.

 Francoise Triumph Tulip Nature Hills
Nursery, Inc.
The Tulip 'Francoise', 'Tulipa triumph', a fall
planted bulb, produce gorgeous pastel colored flowers
ranging from baby yellow to ivory and white. Triumph
Tulips are the largest and one of the most important
class of Tulips. They come in every possible shade of
color possible for tulips, including some wonderful
pastels. They are particularly esteemed for their
beautiful, traditional "tulip" flower shape. Triumph
tulips respond well to a cooling period of six weeks in
the fridge prior to
planting. |
