HDTV Antenna, Receivership and Signals and More on HDTV
Gord is doing his research on HDTVs.
At fist he was totally confused about HDTVs even though he's an expert in television — in fact, you could call him a certified TV addict — a true couch potato.
Throughout his life he's purchased about 20 TV sets. However, in the past, all of his TV purchases were all analogs, because, of course, that's what has always been available.
These days, everything has changed. Gord feels that he's being left behind. He realizes that it;s time to move on and get with the current and emerging HDTV technology. As far as he's concerned, no one should have something better than he has because he's the most certified TV addict in the neighborhood.
HDTVs may seem too complicated for Gord and people like him, but if you read on you'll learn something that should help.
HDTV
High definition television sets or HDTVs, are now are now becoming the "in" choice among TV addicts as well as normal TV buyers.
The HDTV was introduced in 1998 and it was one of the most outstanding innovations the industry has come up with since the invention of the TV in 1926.
Therefore, because it's relatively new technology, it follows that HDTVs are substantially more expensive than current TV products offered.
HDTV is the fastest growing and most popular TV technology and it's making the TV market excited with anticipation with all the new things this technology will bring in the future.
This hot perception for HDTV can be attributed to its quality and feature offered that are far superior when compared to its current counterparts in the TV manufacturing industry.
On the average, marketing and salesmen estimate that the price of an HDTV is about 15 to 25 times higher than the price for a regular, conventional TV set.
HDTV brings a huge and positive advancement for modern TV viewing. It creates a new trend in the media equipment industry because of its high resolution and distinct features set it apart and make it stand out among all the TVs in the market today.
HDTV antenna
One downside for HDTV is its signal or HDTV antenna capacity. Since HDTV uses the complex and sophisticated digital broadcasting technology, HDTV must have its own compatible and specially designed HDTV antenna that, unfortunately, isn't compatible to receive or accept signals from analog TV broadcast transmitters.
Current broadcast technologies employed by all TV networks are still analog. It's estimated that a complete switch to digital TV transmission will be far costlier and more expensive for the whole TV industry.
In the case of the United States — one of the countries to switch to digital broadcasting in 2007 — legislators have acknowledged the expense and costs that will be a part of the switch.
Digital TV transmissions will never be compatible with analog TV antenna, therefore, in time the analog TVs will be made obsolete.
HDTV, with its superior and digital broadcast compatible HDTV antenna, will be too costly for some households with average or below average income, which may end their TV entertainment for this demographic, which seems be very a bit unfair.
HDTV Signal Receivership
An HDTV antenna is the external equipment or part of the HDTV that will set it apart from other and currently existing TV models and equipment.
For analysts and experts, an HDTV antenna is the significant factor, the key to the full-scale success and operation of digital HDTV broadcasts.
It's not surprising that.an HDTV antenna is compatible only for HDTV television sets. Thus TV antennas for analog TVs are only for analog TVs and those for HDTV is only for HDTVs.
As they say, compatibility, as in a marriage,.is the key to a harmonious life-long relationship. In the TV world, HDTV is married to an HDTV antenna. There can be no adultery, since neither will work without their significant other.
